===== IFR Flight Plans =====

Flight plan required for all IFR operations in controlled airspace. (Not required for class G airspace)

Should file your IFR flight plan at least 30 minutes prior to departure (AIM 5-1-8)



===== IFR Low Altitude EnRoute Charts =====

  * “Road maps for IFR pilot” -- to/from SID-STAR
  * Ops below 18,000ft
  * Airways, limits of controlled airspace, VHF navaids, airports (with communication info), MEA’s, OCA’s, airway distances, reporting points, SUAs, military training routes
  * Scales vary from chart to chart (1in = 5nm to 1in = 20nm)
  * Revised every 56 days
