The student should be able to control and maneuver an airplane solely by reference to flight instruments as might be experienced under emergency conditions, and to use the emergency assistance available through radio aids and radar.

This lesson requires 0.8 hours Instrument Flight Time. The student shall maintain heading within +/- 10 degrees, altitude within +/- 100 feet, airspeed within +/- 10 knots and accomplish level off within +/- 100 feet of desired altitude. The student should have a complete understanding of the VOR and radar.
