1.0 Night Dual
The student will be instructed in such aspects of night operations as: night vision, night orientation, judgment of distance, use of cockpit, position and landing lights, and night emergency procedures. The student will complete 8 Takeoffs and 8 Full Stop Landings (A total of 10 takeoffs and 10 full stop night landings are required in AF 201B).
The student will have completed 8 Takeoffs and 8 Full Stop Landings. The student will have successfully completed the lesson when they display the ability to maintain orientation in traffic pattern, can accurately interpret aircraft and runway lights, and can competently fly the traffic pattern and perform takeoffs and landings. They should display, through oral examination and demonstrate competence in performing night emergency procedures.
