AF 201B Unit 8 Dual Cross Country Flight Lesson 4

2.5 Dual XC

The student will plan a VFR Cross country utilizing pilotage, dead reckoning and radio aids (optional) that consists of:

  1. minimum of 2.5 hours in duration
  2. minimum of 0.5 instrument time
  3. a total distance of at least 100 nautical miles
  4. At least 3 legs with at least one leg that consists of a total straight line distance of more than 50 nautical miles.

Some examples include:

  • Scott AFB/Mid-America, IL (BLV) to Sparta-Hunter, IL (SAR). - 109 nm
  • Barkley Regional, KY (PAH) to Mayfield Graves Co., KY (M25) -137nm
