AF 201B Unit 20 Solo Cross Country Flight Lesson 12

201B Solo ops limited to 15kts surface wind or less.

1.5 Solo XC

The student will plan and conduct a VFR solo cross country utilizing pilotage, dead reckoning and radio aids (optional) that consists of:

  1. minimum of 1.5 hours in duration
  2. a total distance of at least 100 nautical miles
  3. At least 2 legs with at least one leg that consists of a total straight line distance of more than 50 nautical miles.

Some examples include:

  • Carbondale, IL (MDH) to Carmi (CUL) - 113.2NM
  • Carbondale, IL (MDH) to Sikeston Memorial*- 109.6NM (If the student has already flown to SIK in U15 SXF9, they may not use that destination for this unit.)

This lesson requires 1.5 hours of Solo Cross Country Time. The student will conduct a VFR solo cross country utilizing pilotage, dead reckoning and radio aids(optional).
